PRINTS

What paper do we use?

Our photographs are printed on Fuji Crystal Archive paper in either glossy or lustre finish. The weight of photographic paper is not measured in grams unlike other paper (i.e. inkjet paper).

What file types do we accept?

All images must be 8 bit colour jpegs or tiffs, in sRGB format. Please note: we cannot accept 16 bit, PDFs, raw files, Grayscale or CMYK images.

What is the print resolution?

We print at 300 dots per inch (dpi)

What are the minimum and/or best image sizes for each print size?

The minimum required for an acceptable print is 150 dpi; the best is 300 dpi. Please refer to the table of pixel sizes in the services and prices guide. You can also find this by clicking the 'info' link in the menu.

What does PCC mean?

PCC (Pro Colour Correction) can be selected during the ordering process if you wish our technicians to grade each individual image for optimum results. Density, colour, contrast and saturation are adjusted to get the best result from each image that you have uploaded.

Does the customer own the copyright to the printed images?

Yes, providing they are their own images and do not infringe copyright rules.

What if your file size and chosen print size do not match?

Ideally, when we print your image, it will fit the print size exactly. If however, a flashing red warning triangle appears over the image or images, this indicates that the print size chosen does not match the aspect ratio of the image that has been uploaded.

Clicking on the warning triangle will provide an in-depth description of 'fit-in' and 'fill-in' options, but briefly:

'FIT-IN' : We fit the entire print into the space available which will result in your image being printed with a white border on 2 sides, or if larger than 12x8, it will be trimmed to the image. This option ensures that you will not lose any of your image.

'FILL-IN' : We fill the available space on the print by cropping your image.

The default crop option is 'fill-in', but you can select 'fit-in' if you prefer. You will need to choose 'extended options' from the 'my print options' box to reveal the crop options control.

USING OUR WEB-SITE

What if you receive a 'Certificate not Valid' message on your computer?

Please ensure you have www.snapmad.com typed into your browser rather than just snapmad.com

Do you need Java to be able to use this website?

Yes, if you use the 'Easy Uploader' you will need Java. The 'Easy Uploader' should load automatically. Loading is fairly quick on Internet Explorer but can take some time on Firefox and other browsers. If nothing at all happens within a couple of minutes, then there is a problem; clear your browser's cache (click here for instructions). If problems persist, try re-starting your browser. If your browser crashes, Java may not be properly installed (you can test it here)

Can you make changes to an order after it has been submitted to the website?

Sorry, our system is automated and we are therefore unable to make adjustments once the order has been confirmed.
